Meet Paula
Paula embarked on her yoga journey at the age of 14, inspired by her mother who is also a yoga teacher. She initially turned to yoga to find solace during the stressful period of completing high school in Germany, as it was the only practice that quieted her mind. While pursuing psychology studies, Paula felt a longing within her soul, leading her to pursue yoga teacher training. Drawn to the precision of alignment in Anusara yoga, Paula became a certified Anusara teacher, finding a sense of safety in its practice.
Upon relocating to New Zealand, Paula expanded her teaching repertoire in a vinyasa yoga studio, where she was introduced to yin yoga and vinyasa flow by her mentor, Zara. Today, her practice encompasses a blend of these styles. In her active classes, she infuses Vinyasa Flow with the alignment principles of Anusara.
Paula recalls a defining moment in her yoga journey when she experienced her own energy for the first time during Savasana, a moment that moved her to tears.
-
Paula is a certified 200h Anusara Yoga Teacher. She completed a Yin Yoga training module with Zara Thame in New Zealand. Paula has been teaching yoga all over the world since age 21, at studios, retreats, festivals, cooperations, and online events.

Areas where Yoga can provide support
Establishing Safety Within
Through intentional breath work in yoga, you initiate a rewiring of limbic loops. These loops entail a shift in posture following an unresourceful thought, triggering emotions that further embed the initial thought. By mindfully focusing on breath and posture, we cultivate a new sense of safety and belonging within ourselves.
Nervous System Regulation
By engaging in activities such as breathwork, humming, movement within a flowing practice, or maintaining stillness in Yin yoga, you regularly engage in down-regulating your nervous system. With consistent practice, you'll find it increasingly effortless to transition between states of activation and relaxation in your everyday life
Building Strength & Confidence
Over time, yoga poses aid in the gradual development of physical strength. Observing your progress allows you to gather tangible evidence of your body's capabilities. Dedication to a consistent practice and honoring that commitment fosters the growth of confidence and self-trust.
Mindful Movements
By embracing an appropriate level of challenge in your yoga practice, you naturally divert your attention away from your problems. Your mind becomes absorbed in the practice, leading to a sense of tranquility and stillness. Following a yoga session, you may notice that your worries and problems appear in a more realistic light, feeling less daunting and overwhelming.
Strengthen Connective Tissue
Yin Yoga offers remarkable benefits for hydrating and fortifying connective tissue. This is achieved through its natural stimulation of hyaluronic acid, a substance found in the joints, skin, and eyes, facilitating smooth movement and supporting skin elasticity.
From Reaction to Response
Constant rushing can make everything seem threatening. However, by taking time to unwind in your yoga practice, you initiate the downregulation of your nervous system. This process creates room for you to impartially examine the triggers in your life, rather than simply reacting to them.
